So, I suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain about 3 months ago now. Not while running, but while walking in heels across a slick surface. (I know� please show mercy in this area) I was on crutches for a month, and in a walking boot for about a month after that. I can now walk with minimal pain, but not zero pain. Range of motion is still lacking and I still have a good bit of pain when rotating the foot. I have been walking for a few weeks, and decided to go out for a 30 minute walk with my husband with a few short jogging periods. Each jog came with pain and I couldn't run more than 30 seconds each time. Downhill definitely was better than flat or uphill running.
