Gua Sha: An Effective Chinese Massage for Plantar Fasciitis

I want to introduce a very effective Chinese point massage technique called Gua Sha.

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment that releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing. Gua sha is commonly used by acupuncturists and physical therapists to treat Plantar Fasciitis.

Gua sha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edged instrument. Skin should be lubricated with massage oil first and then it is thoroughly scraped with a ceramic Chinese soup spoon, a well worn coin or a simple metal cap with wide edges.

Give Gua Sha a try and let us know if it helped you.

About us

Health Outcome is the first platform for patients to rate and review their treatment experiences and help find treatments that cure.

Although there are 51 million surgeries conducted in the U.S. annually, there is no meaningful data on medical treatments or surgery outcomes available to patients or physicians. We are actively addressing this void of outcome data with a platform built to capture the voice of the patient.
