Physical Therapy, Orthotics, Ice, Night splint, Stretching, Other, Strengthening Exercises, Graston Technique

I had all the typical symptoms of plantar facilities, Saw two different podiatrists, one gave me a steroid shot, numbed it for a couple of hours, then it got worse. Second one gave me exercises to do, didn't help with pain at all. Then I saw a physical therapist, he said I was aperfect candidate for ASTYM treatments. I researched these treatments, it seemed too good to be true, but having been in terrible pain for over a year, I was willing to try anything. My PT did ASTYM treatments combined with Graston method, gave me exercises to do and had to wear orthotics. Pain slowly decreased over a 6 month period. I'm 99% pain free, have to wear orthotics for 1 more month then ween out of them over a 6 week period. PT explained that had I been properly diagnosed when this first occurred, treatment would have been shorter, but I had been in pain for 18+ months! so it took longer to see improvement. I highly recommend these treatments. The ASTYM treatments are good, but if you can find a PT that also knows the Graston method, you will see improvement much more quickly than without. I don't know why but for some reason doctors don't know about ASTYM treatments. I went to 2 podiatrists and neither one recommended it. Also asked my GP for RX for physical therapy and he never heard of these treatments either. So don't waste your time with doctors, just see a physical therapist.
