    Orthotics, Strengthening Exercises

I ended up going to a Podiatrist because I couldn't put my feet on the ground when I got out of bed without pain. He checked it out and suggested Orthotics. However I couldn't really afford to pay that much and then find out they may not work. So he sold he some half

Orthotics made of rubber, measured them up to my foot first. I wear them inside my special supported sneakers every day when I work and on the weekends. Unfortunately the only other shoes I can wear is boots and I have to put the Orthotics in those as well. For summer luckily I have found a pair of slip-ons and now this year - a pair of vinyl topped thongs (flip flops) which have hard arch supports built in. They were expensive but very worth it. However you have to try them on and make sure that the arch is in the right place. That is why it has taken me so long to find them. Each day I have to roll my feet over a tennis ball for awhile before I go to work or go out. This massages it and makes it bearable for the day. All this being done though - I can't go for long walks and when I come home after a night of shopping - I am in pain and have to massage it with the tennis ball again but at least I don't have that pain when I put them on the floor first thing in the morning.
