Do NOT get steroid injections, they hurt more than they help in the long run. I went through the whole gambit of treatments for three years and finally cured myself, using a rolling ball electric back massager to massage my feet nightly, have had little to no trouble after doing this for several days. Once in a while I still need to get it back out when I have been walking a lot, but usually am good. Am still careful to wear supportive shoes and have put a pad under the ball of my big toe but the massage was what really did the trick!
