Injured left foot walking in cold weather after not walking for a couple months because of snow and ice. Unable to walk without treatment. Coached softball with this injury then saw orthopedic doctor for more aggressive treatment . The best treatment for me was ice, Motrin , orthotic insert , rest, physical therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises done daily for 3 months before coaching soccer. During this entire duration of my injury, I walked 1-2 miles a day. One year later ....... I wear my orthotic insert in my sneakers everyday, stretch and continue to strengthen before walking. I am pain free, fully healed and walk 2-3 miles a day. Difficult injury to overcome !
