My plantar fasciitis developed as a result of another injury - a severely torn Achilles' tendon and high ankle sprain. Therapy has helped somewhat and stretching eases the tightness of my feet, but orthotic shoes have been my greatest help and relief. Higher arches and heel cups to get the pressure off my heels and balls of my feet. My left foot suffered the injury but the plantar fasciitis as affected both feet. I also am developing hammer toes on my left foot as I subconsciously curl my toes to maintain my balance, while protecting the ball of that foot.
