My 1st episode was after I had gotten ceramic tile installed in my home. At that time I walked barefoot on it. I was also doing power walking. After several months of suffering and trying many different shoes and inserts, I used some magnetic insoles and I actually found relief when wearing the magnets. I never walked barefoot again. I also have very flat feet. The 2nd very bad episode was after I made a major move to another city. I tried everything - stretching, icing, exercises, night splints, different inserts and shoes. I couldn't find any inserts with magnets, as this was several years from the 1st occurrence and the company had stopped making them. I finally went to a podiatrist after 4 months of suffering and had a cortisone injection. That relieved the pain. I am very careful since then. If I start experiencing heel pain, I ice my feet and rest them. It has been 10 years since then. I walk 25-30 minutes most days. My right heel is very sensitive and there is pain sometimes after walking but nothing like the full-blown episodes. I got some me new custom orthotics just today
