I had this condition without knowing it for about 3 years. ( I just thought I was getting old and stiff in the mornings. ) Quit smoking, started a running program. Ran through pain until I was literally a cripple for about two weeks. Bought a book called Injury Afoot and worked on rehabbing at home. Have been to two docs, two rounds of formal PT plus hours and hours and hours of PT and stretching at home, two injections to the right foot, one injection to the left, oral meds, surgery (TENEX) on the right foot on November 16th. Ugh now worse and going to formal PT again with, ugh, dry needling. In all I've been dealing with this pain for about 6 years. I recently quit a part time job because I can not be on my feet for a whole day without agony.
