Ice, anti-inflammatories, orthotics and supportive shoes helped for a few weeks, then the pain returned. As soon as I started barefoot walking on different surfaces, intensive calf stretching and foot strengthening exercises the pain went away pretty quickly and started back running soon after, slowly building mileage.
