I feel resting was worse for me as I stayed stiffened up. Stretching and yoga with deep tissue massage have really helped with calf tightness. Strength training feet exercises, inserts and supportive shoes have helped. Icing and rolling ball and taking antiinflamatiry only helped during acute flare ups. Cortisone was a temporary mask of pain.
