I have worn flip flops all my life, but had gone shopping and found a pretty pair of FLAT thongs. Wore them all over town. By that night it was getting worse and the next morning I could hardly walk. Fought it for awhile but finally went to a foot specialist, a shot of cortisone and a day splint and night one, exercises to stretch. It got better, went back in two wks, 90% better, no more shots. I bought some new shoes, good ones, Montana sandals and it had the right elevation heel. Dr told me to not go barefoot even in the house. That's hard, I live in Fl and its a known thing. I have a friend who has put some tape on my heel and arch. It has helped, can't remember what its called. The second time I went to dr he said I also have a bone spur on my heel, it Achilles tendonitis, AND plantars fasciitis. When it was so bad, I stayed off of it. The original pain was in my heel and then went on.
