NSAIDs - Anti Inflammatory drugs, Ice, Cortisone Injection, Rest

I had gotten where I couldn't put any weight on my heal. My family dr tried anti inflammatory drugs, ice, rest and a cortisone injection. Nothing gave me any relief. I was referred to a specialist who wanted to try an experimental treatment. He put me in an air cast and injected 5cc's of blood platelets along the tendon. He told me I was the first person to ever have this done, hence why my insurance wouldn't pay anything toward it. I was in the air cast for approximately 6 weeks. In 2 months I was pretty much healed and have had no problems at all, not even a twinge. My dr said he wrote a very nice paper about this treatment. Both of us were very happy with the results. If needed I would definately have this treatment again even if I had to pay the entire cost again.
