I am a nurse. Back in the early 90's obtained this condition from working the busy halls of Med- surg. In the hospital. Pain med. Rest. PT. then told to walk. I walked so much I got shin splints. Sigh! Rest some more. Over time got better. Bam....two years ago it got progressively worse . Bilateral heel Spurs Under and to back of heel. Doctor put me in a cast and walking boot for my left foot. Over a period of time being Lopsided walking . Back problems. I found on line ( no doctor suggested) a base forunder my shoe to make my hips even when standing. Months and months later and with a new doctor received cortizone injections bilateraly in both heels with some relief . I Had to wait three months for another injection of cortizone. Well the third one did nothing.. Had PT, exercises, ultrasound. Ice. Bought every equipment I used in PT and then some. Foot soaks. Still in great pain it's varies throughout the day on the pain. Doctors refuse to operate saying they my cripple me. I currently live in sneakers unable to wear anything else. This has been a long hard road with no relief in sight. I do not even have to get up from sitting to have Extreme pain in my feet.
