Worst injury ever! And I've had broken and sprained arms, fingers and toes.
Started because I was walking dog regularly on pavement with summer supportive shoes - obviously not supportive enough.
Slowly improving -
Massage to break down scar tissue has been most effective.
Orthotics and all the other traditional aides have helped, but not cured.
Massage was painful, but foot felt more normal for a several days.
Therefore - massage every week!
