Started having pain in heel in 2012, any type of walking was painful, went to foot doctor and got an injection which helped for about 2 months, pain came back, went to another foot doctor who gave me another injection and taped my foot for 3 days, pain went away for 3 months. Pain came back went back to the doctor and got a 3rd injection, pain free for almost 4 months. Now the pain is back again and I would rate it as a 9 on the pain scale. I am a cashier so I stand for 5-8 hours a day. I have tried inserts in my shoes, Ibuprofen twice a day, and icing and stretching at night, pain is diminished but never goes completely away. It is getting very hard to walk or stand. Doctor has suggested surgery but I'm afraid of it not helping and I cannot take time off work.
