I was diagnosed in 1992 and was prescribed custom orthotics. They worked for approximately 3-5 years. I had repeated cortisone injections, one of those boots at night for stretching. It got to a point where nothing worked anymore. I could barely walk without hurting. Surgery was the last resort. I had the surgery in May of 1998 and went on a trip in June that I didn't hurt at all. If I have any more problems from this, I will have my chiropractor use the laser treatment on my heel before trying anything else.
