I noticed my heel having pain after going out for a run. I've been a runner for almost 10 years and have never had any problems with my heels. after resting my foot the rest of the day after running, my foot felt better and so after taking a day off, I would get back outside to run. Over time, approximately 2 months, my right heel wasn't recovering as quickly. Finally, the pain was too much and I went to see Dr. Crismali at Crismali Foot and Ankle. I received 2 cortisone injections in my heel but to my disappointment, it didn't help. Later I read that a cortisone injection can actually make it worse. I've cut my running schedule down to just thirty minutes every other day, omitting the uphill portion of my route. The pain is slowly going away, but I am not 100%. I cannot and wont quit running. It's part of who I am, so any and all suggestions and advice as to how to help my feet heal, not just mask the pain, would be greatly appreciated!
