I do not like the choice of “cured” given. There is no cure, only treatments.
I have given up on trying to find anything that takes away the pain I have. I don’t want to be stuck on medications the rest of my life and have learned to live my life in constant pain.

      Wait and See,

I went to numerous doctors and well known medical facilities for the past 15 years. I was misdiagnosed with Lupus. I was recently diagnosed with Ehlers - Danlos (genetic test and skin biopsy) and Chiari Malformation 1. I am scheduled for fusion surgery in October. I would like to read other patient's recovery and surgery stories.

I still work fulltime 5hough both standing and sitting are difficult. I am waiting to be given a surgical date for Tethered Cord Release, which is a co-morbid to Chiari. Hopefully, it will end some of the other symptoms I have had for years.

      Opioids,

It has greatly reduced my quality and enjoyment of life..
Being in constant pain and hurting in so many places vision disturbances, balance issues, dizzy spells... THEN to have so many DR's treat you like you're lying because THEY ARE UNAWARE OF CHIARI is so deeply frustrating .

NSAIDs - Anti Inflammatory drugs, Acupuncture, Rest, Supplements,

I was diagnosed a little less than a month ago, but I've had symptoms my whole life; however, they've been worsening the last few years. I learned to manage many symptoms because I had decided it was all psychsomatic since no doctor could figure it out. Acupuncture was the first thing to help me (I started at 23). Yoga, acupuncture, massage and chiro have kept me functional for this long. But I've had an increase of obvious neurological issues this last year and after they didn't improve, I was finally sent to a neurologist.
