I have tried everything from supplements to radio ablation. I have suffered with FM for over 20 years and I don't see an end in sight. I have spent thousands of dollars on treatments only to be let down. I haven't work in over 4 years due to FM. Thank goodness I was able to save money while I was working as I made good money. But I have gone through it all and have nothing left. I was turned down by Social Security Disability three times. I am finally 62 and will collect SS Retirement in November. I believe that is why SS didnt review my last appeal.
My pain comes and goes but mostly comes. I get pain in one part of my body and then another, etc. it is hell. I have Sjogrens Sydrome, Interstitial Cystitis, ibs, gerd, gastritis, arthritis, migraines and the list goes on... all stemming from FM. There is no treatment better than others. It comes down to just helping yourself get thru it. I must say that massage helps a great deal, but that only lasts a few days if that. I am on 13-14 different meds two of which are opioids. I took myself off of one of them morphine as it was not helping me. Oxycodone is a nightmare to try and get and the supplies are I had my doctor give me medication to help with withdrawals. Since I couldn't get the medication and the pharmacy lost my prescription. What a nightmare. I decided to stop taking it since it wasn't helping either. At least I didn't think so. But now that I have stopped, I am in pain all the time. So I guess it was helping a little.
