My fibromyalgia started after I had a bad outcome on a surgery leaving me disabled. The rheumatologist told me it was caused by the trauma to my body. That was exactly 20 years ago. I have been fortunate to have had 2 family physicians during this time. My first was an excellent diagnostician as well as my current. I only changed because I moved to another town and my doctor now was highly recommended my my original one. It took him approximately 4 years and many combination tries at different meds to finally arrive at one that allowed me to at least get out of the bed 75-80% of the time as opposed to suffering in bed 5-6 days a week and being just plain miserable the rest of the time. I take Lyrica, Cymbalta, Norco, Xanax, Daypro, Zanaflex, Copper & iron infusion every 6 weeks. I am adjusted to this & can deal with the residual pain that never subsides but unfortunately my doctor has taken ill and his young P.A. thinks she can give me a "better quality of life" by messing with my meds
