I am a retired gastroenterology nurse. I spent 20 years specializing in ERCP procedures, wearing lead in a radiology department sometimes 5+ hrs everyday. I developed decompression in my lower L4,5,S1&2 areas of my spine. I have used cortisone injections and daily nsaids for relief. Also physical therapy that helped tremendously. However, all of these are expensive and sometimes not fully covered by insurance. My pain doctor suggested RFA treatments to help with pain management and to get off nsaids. This has been my life Savior. With this treatment, the nerve endings are ablated(they do grow back). This gives me more strength and agility for 6-8+ months. It is not a cure all but keeps me mobile and away from surgery. I live this.
