    Rest,

Your survey to me wasn't complete. You asked about the results of stretching, but didn't ask about the results from rest or Gokhale Method. My story is I am active, many sports, running, hiking, etc. 4-5 times a year I would throw my back out (strained) and I would be in bad pain for 4-12 days. During that time being unable to do anything that required bending, reaching or walking. I would first rest and then do minor stretching, until pain would go away. I decided because of this "constant syndrome" that I would try something different, so attended the Gokhale Method classes. This encourages correct posture support, lengthening of the spine and stretching. They teach you how to properly walk, run, sit, stand and sleep. I attended the classes 5 years ago and three times have gone back for "refresher training." My results have been fantastic. I have not strained my back one time since I attended the Gokhale initial classes. I am so fanatical about the results I have probably sent 12 of my friends to Gokhale who were experiencing similar back pain as I had in the past. I'd encourage anyone who experiences back pain, especially those considering surgery, to first attend Gokhale Method training.
