Been suffering with super hard core back pain for over 20 years. Cortisone helped but it's so bad for the body so I stopped after a few shots. I keep my back strong by doing Yoga 4 to 5 x a week and fast walking. Swimming is the best exercise for me but I don't like chlorine so I go on and off every few years. I have an amazing thermotex heating pad that I use all the time as well as ice when back becomes inflamed. Basically I have to prevent flair ups by avoiding nightshade veggies and inflaming foods as well as hard core cross fit style exercise which I like taking. Right now I'm in the middle of a flair up caused by lifting very heavy weights because I was feeling soooo good. So it's back to eating super clean, heat ice combos, my ortho dorky little heeled shoes, lumbar support to walk a few miles, side sleeping with pillow between legs and Advil when it gets really crazy. Once inflammation dies down its back to daily yoga and my regular routine which I will NOT deviate from again no matter how great I feel
