Agonizing pain from buttocks down to ankle when I stepped out of bed in the morning. Tried all of the above that I highlighted. Suffered for 7 months, and after trying natural cures (none of which helped) my surgeon performed a minimally invasive lamenectomy. Relief was immediate. However, because of the degenerative disc problem--I am again two years later-- having pain in the buttocks and the backs of my legs. However, the pain is not as severe as the sciatic pain, and I will probably just live with it until it becomes intolerable. At 84 years old, I'm not even sure I would be a good candidate for more surgery.
