Started 30 years ago with a back sprain for no particular reason. MD put me to bed for 3 weeks. Huge mistake. As I have aged it has become worse. Now besides spinal stenosis, I have arthritis in my big toe, one elbow, hip, 2 shoulders. I have had epidurals twice. They worked for maybe a week.. I am unable to do routine housework i.e., vacuuming, sweeping, mopping. Legs go numb when I stand for short periods of time. I have difficulty walking for any length of time such as more than 5 minutes. I have been on various NSAIDS, Gabapentin, occasional steroids but they hurt my gut and make me feel bad. I have had some minor success with hydrocodone that I found left over from something a couple of years ago but only take half of one when the pain reaches an 8 or more. The only time I don't hurt is when I am supine.
