I have 10 vertebra with no padding, Stenosis (sp) and Arthritis Two doctors would not operate on me. Laser Institute said they could fix it but I cannot afford 18,000.00 dollars. I can't take pain meds as they give me hallucinations So I just have to suffer.

It took several years to stop the pain but with pain management Drs and PT I now have a life out and about instead of laying in bed or sitting in a recliner day after day. It takes hard work and dedication to beat the back pain. There are NO miracle cures!

Severe leg pain both legs from hips to ankles mostly from the spondylolisthesis. Acupuncture helped a little bit when the pain first started. Spinal injections helped for a couple weeks. NSAIDs and Tramadol helped but because of a kidney condition had to change acetaminophen which didn't work as well. Didn't get much relief from heat, ice, PT or Tens. After finding a great Dr. I decided to go for the spinal fusion surgery and I have never had a bit of pain in my legs since!!! I couldn't be happier! I have my life back! The fir St couple of days after the surgery is tough but it was tolerable ( with some pain melds) by the third or forth day. You can't lift, bend or twist for a while but I was back at work after about two and a half weeks ( light duty). There is still some pain at the incision sight at three months but according to my Dr. most people experience some pain anywhere from 6-12 months after surgery. It's nothing compared to the leg pain I was experiencing before the surgery!
