I "threw" my back out 3 months after my first child was born, and afterwards I had a chronic tension with recurring pains surrounding my pelvis, particularly in my lower back/SI joint. I tried chiropractic several times, and perhaps the right chiropractor could have helped, and in fact, I did have some relief, but not lasting, and in some cases I felt worse.

I tried Physical Therapy, but I didn't have the discipline to keep up the exercises they prescribed.

Finally I found the Gokhale method, which taught me proper posture and a much better understanding of what that was, as well as ways to stretch. This was easily incorporated into my daily life without an extra exercise routine. All of this resulted in my pain completely disappearing. It has not returned for a year.
