Chronic lower back pain for over 1o years, scoliosis, degenerative discs and arthritis at L5 S1, sciatica pain and numbness, tensed left side muscles on my back and occasionally spasms. I finally went to a chiropractor after 2 general practitioners said I was fine and only agreed to a chiro in order to get a referral to a specialist. The chiro diagnosed and rayed me. I did physical therapy not wanting to be 'cracked'. It did help to strengthen my core. I also did yoga and yoga for scoliosis which was quite similar to my PT excesises. My mom has the same back but reflexive side and worse progressed. She found the Gokhale Method book, we tried it and attended a Gokhale class as well as implementing the posture coaching into our everyday lives especially on airplane sears and in our cars. Our smashed lower back discs were especially allieviated by a slight anterior pelvis tilt. This one tiny tilt has done more than all other treatments probably to heal nerve pain and maintain alignment.
