I first suffered from what was diagnosed as a herniated disc in 2009 from digging in the garden. Lower back pain persisted for 2 months. I took physical therapy and have practiced stretching and strengthening routines on close to a daily basis since. Since then I've suffered several similar incidents though none were diagnosed as herniated, only leaking fluid from the L2-L3 region that was hitting a nerve. Each incident lasted 6-8 weeks. The most recent occurred in June 2015. I then learned about the Gokhale Method and took the Fundamentals course over the next couple of months. The method's instructor was very thorough in explaining what was going on and taught me the 8 basic steps from the Method which I have practiced steadfastly since. I still keep up with my physical therapy routines but since I studied Gokhale I have suffered very little back pain. And each time I've felt something I've been able to correct it completely within a few hours.
