No single identifiable accident caused this (I've had an active life), therefore I don't call it an injury. The L5 vertebrae is the epicenter I've had 3 Laminectomies on the second one a coflex was inserted in lieu of a fusion on the third the front (facing inward) was removed. Pain continued unabated. Referred to Pain Clinic. Tried cortisone injections, and epidural-all to no avail. Nerve Block worked for about 10 days so we move on to radio frequency adulation (RFA) L1 through S1 which has worked for 6 months plus. I'm now on the 3rd RFA. What I use daily is exercise, diet, supplements, Gaberpentine, Advil, and Tylenol. Weekly Physical Therapy. Some days are better than others its only a matter of time before the RFA stops working then we'll look at a fusion, probably.
