    Postural Modifications, Gokhale Method

As a massage therapist, I've tried many treatments for chronic low back pain due to a degenerating disc diagnosed at L5-S1, including massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, stretching and strengthening exercises (yoga, pilates and fitness centers), and pain medication. I did receive short term relief from these healing modalities, but it was not until I learned new ways of sitting, standing, lying down, bending and walking through posture modification that my lower back pain stopped. It has not returned as I continue to practice the techniques I learned in the Gokhale Method Foundations Course ( I was so impressed that I've recently become a Gokhale Method teacher to share what has helped me so much with others experiencing muscle and skeletal pain.
