For several weeks a few months ago, I experienced a strange sort of problem. Any time I got up from lying or sitting down, I would be fine for 1-20 seconds, and then suddenly overcome with such crippling lower back pain I would literally collapse on the ground if I wasn't holding on to something. Actually, I'm not sure if it was like a paralysis or if it was the pain that caused me to fall, but there was no chance of staying upright unless I braced myself against a counter or chair. The pain was excruciating, but it would resolve over the next 5-15 seconds, and after that, I would be perfectly fine to stand, walk, even run. The pain would not come back until the next time I rose from sitting or lying down. It happened about 95% of the time when I did so. Very strange and terrible, but finally resolved on its own.
