After my injury I had years of awful pain going threw stupid workmans comp procedures! Finally had to lawyer up to get real help! Went threw a few years of all kinds of injections that didn't work! Finally had to have surgery, my first surgery was awful! Open my belly up, moved my organs to get to my L4 disc which was taken out! The recovery was long and painful and I never wanted to do anything like that again! I still was in great pain and had to have another surgery to fuse my L5 and S1 together, this surgery was way better in recovery time and in time a lot of pain decreased all tho I still have little strength in my lower back! I don't know if there was a better option for me or not but I am know disabled because of my injury and have to live the rest of my life with how my back is! Constant pain!
