I have been suffering with spinal stenosis and sciatica of the left leg for about two years now. I am in constant pain, except for the times I was able to have an epidural injection, which would last approximately 4 weeks. I have tried physical therapy and do my stretching exercises everyday. I use a Jacuzzi and also take epsom salt baths. I have been taking Meloxicam for over a year, but have recently stopped because of my fear of liver damage. I currently take Aleve twice a day and am seeing a chiropractor for adjustments and massage. When home and sitting down, I always use a gel ice pad, which seems to help. I have good days and bad days, but am never without pain. I have to keep a crutch in my car just in case. Luckily, I am able to sleep as lying down helps with the pain. The action of walking is where I have the most trouble. I am afraid to have surgery as I have heard horror stories about the outcomes. It would be so nice to get on the floor with my grandchildren or take them to the zoo, but right now I am unable to do either. Hopefully, it will get better one day.
