For years, my low back would hurt occasionally, but several months ago it started hurting every day and is worst when I first get out of bed. I had x-rays and an MRI. I've went to physical therapy for 12 weeks. The ultrasound and heat packs felt great, but the some of the exercises make my back sorer. I bought an exercise ball and am continuing exercises at home.

Heat always feels good but the temps here are so hot that I've switched to cold I also take Gabapentin every day for nerve pain that I have extending from my upper back and down my arm. I cannot take NSAIDs because I have severe gastritis.

I started going to a chiropractor and have had 3 visits so far. My back hurts more the day after the visits and they've told me to keep icing it.
