I was in chronic pain for over 10yrs. The pain was in my right side hip, down my right leg, felt like my knee cap was going to pop off, lower back.. I could hardly walk. I have seen over 12+back specialist doctors for my pain that was getting worse and worse. I had a surgery for a bulged disc L5 S1 in 2010..The relief last for 6months and bang I felt it go. I went back to him and he told me he could do nothing else to help me(pretty much kick sand). NO one would touch me. Soo, I was back taking pain and nerve meds. Going around and around the healthcare insurance game. See more and more Drs. Hell, I had a pain management Dr tell me I was "seeking"pain meds. I had Drs tell me surgery WONT HELP. I was at my wits end. The drug doses kept going up and up. I had been to the ER dept may times in the years for shots in my back to relieve the pain. I felt like giving up, waking up everyday in pain. When a person is taking high doses of pain and nerve meds, it starts to made a person think, feel, react, and do things you wouldn't do. I saw a TV commercial for Laser Spine Institute in 2014. LSI was an out of group network. I called my healthcare insurance company and told them. They sent me a letter stating they would not pay for the surgery. We left for the surgery anyway. drove 7hours to philly,pa, had a MRI, set up surgery, told them what my insurance company said. LSI took care of that for me. My cost was $400 dollars. I stopped taking my pain meds,WRONG move. I quit cold turkey and ended up having a withdraw. Shaking, crying, laughing, sweating, could not control it. I had to go to my family dr. The docs said I needed to switch careers. I had 20yrs in manufacturing(excellent health insurance)and I decide to stay in manufacturing. Wrong choice, blew in out again. From 2014 to 2016 I had worked at 10 different places. It was very hard to keep a job with my back injury. 2016 had same surgery in February. That lasted a month. May, I had a soft fusion at the laser spine institute. L4andL5 S1 are fused. Only time will tell, I have to be off work for 6months to a yr.. The pain is getting less and less each day. I am no longer depend on meds. Pain meds are like a bandaid, surgery is what helped me relieve my pain... Thanks for taking your time to read this. DONT EVER GIVE UP
