I have suffered with back and neck issues for for 25 years. We have finally come to figure out that it was due to my mom drinking and taking barbiturates while pregnant with me. It took me 25 years and a whole bunch of different doctors before I found this current surgeon, a reconstructive spine surgeon, that helped me figure this out. He did my 4 level neck fusion in November of 2014. He did my lower back fusion, which involved 8 procedures, in March of 2015. I am fusing at every level. Thank god for that! I am now able to get back into the land of the living and that is a blessing. I will never be without pain, but I am sure without more of the the pain than I have been in 25 years.
