I have had back pain for years and could not do all I wanted to do. I decided after many epiderals to see a surgeon. I had surg fusion of the 2 3 4 lumbar and the bottom one did not take. Because of the excess pain they did a surgery to remove the hardware. Than I had 3 different times to try to deaden the nerves because of the pain. I tried physical therapy water twice and regular exercise once after the second surgery. Than they tried to deaden the nerve ends three times. Now when I stand after just a few minutes the pain grabs me and I bend over and have to sit down or lean against something. The pain is much severer now than before the surgery. I know I am over weight but walking very far is out . I do use a grocery cart when shopping which gives me some relief . I could take medicines but find if I just set down or lie down the pain is relieved. I am on Medicare so a lot of treatments are out . When the pain hits me the muscle in my back has swollen and gets very firm from the pain.
