I've had back pain for over 15 years. Because of scoliosis and arthritis, I've shrunk 4.5 inches in the last ten years. None of the standard treatments that I tried ever gave me any significant improvement. BUT Feldenkrais has been wonderful. My therapist has worked with me for two years now and I've seen great improvement. I recently injured my back in a fall and in just one session I've had relief. I'm working with my Primary Care doctor with x-rays and an MRI to see why there have been significant arthritis changes recently. Feldenkrais has really helped me reduce and management my pain.

Since Feldenkrais treatment I have had very kittle pain unless I do a lot od bending as when we get ready for a trip. I have learned ways to avoid pain and also ways to deal with pain. After one year of Feldenkrais treatment, I was off opioids and just on Tylenol extra strength when I needed it, not regularly.

At this point, it is almost just an annoyance. Though I am still reluctant to engage in as much strenuous activity as I used to. The Feldenkreis Method has helped me to understand what has been happening in much more subtle and complex ways than previous treatments such as physical therapy. I am now much better at managing the discomfort and it is no longer the intense pains I once felt.
