    I have neuropathy in the left foot caused by lumbar spine degeneration. My left hip and thigh area were numb due to sitting incorrectly while studying long hours. The pain in my left leg was unbearable and I was one week away from signing up for back surgery when I saw an email for Gokhale free workshop on gardening. I attended the workshop on Zoom (during Covid pandemic) and my life trajectory was changed from back surgery to The Gokhale Method which taught me what I had been looking for from chiropractors and doctors for years. How to stand, sleep, sit, walk, bend, lift, etc. to not only avoid pain but to HEAL certain parts of my body that had been damaged throughout my life by sitting, standing, walking incorrectly. I am 69 now and can walk, garden, bend down, carry up to 20 lbs and live life again knowing that the lessons I have learned from Gokhale Method will keep me strong and healthy throughout my life.

    The REASON I no longer have back or leg pain now is that I took the Gokhale Elements course last month. But before that happened, when my Primary Doctor saw my latest MRI she immediately referred me to a neurosurgeon. I never thought I would get surgery but my latest bout with back and leg pain was unbearable and I had to lay on the couch after doing simple tasks during the day and ended up smoking marijuana every evening when the pain was the worst. Two days before I saw the surgeon for a consult, I read in the Gokhale Method newsletter that Esther Gokhale was giving a free online workshop on gardening and gardening was the reason I would do whatever was necessary to stop my pain - I DID NOT WANT TO GIVE UP GARDENING. I signed up for Esther's 18-session online course which I started on July 2, 2020 and finished on July 22. Today is August 5, 2020 which means that less than one month after completing her course I have been walking and gardening and going to the store (without crawling back to the car in pain). What I've been looking for with all my therapies is someone to tell me not only how to stop the pain I was in but also to help me understand how not to keep coming back for temporary fixes! None of my doctors, chiropractors, yoga instructors or physical therapists seemed interested (or knowledgeable?) about that. Nothing stuck until now. I am learning to actually allow my spine and muscles and nerves to work the correct way so that they don’t continue getting worse. I'm only 69 (this month!) and therefore much too young to be sitting at the window watching the world go by.
