      Acupuncture,

my lower back, hip and knee pain went through the roof after I was rear ended in July 2009. Because I am fused at 2 levels in my neck and lumbar area with cages and rods those areas did not move with impact but the level above and below my fusion took the brunt of impact causing numerous spinal abnormalities to develop. I had to have my cervical fusion redone but there is too much damage to the rest of my spine and muscles to even attempt to fix without creating more problems with scar tissue and stenosis bone growth during the healing process after the surgery. My pain was bearable/manageable with comprehensive pain management and the use of time release opioid treatment for approximately 12 years. In 2016 my doctor had to reduce the frequency and dose of my opioids to 1/4 of what worked for me due to the CDC and DEA "fake opioid" crisis. Instead of controlling the import from China of illicit fentanyl/heroin on the streets it is easier to "control" physicians who prescribe opioids to patients who need them to maintain some quality to their life. My activity lever is severely limited due to unmanaged high levels of pain.
