My daily life has been reduced to a lot of sitting, trying to walk as exercise, as many household chores as I can do. I was shocked to read about the other lady who said her spine is crumbling and she has Fibromyalgia! I have had Fibro since 2008 and my spine is also crumbling!!

My condition keeps me from enjoying life with pain in my neck, shoulders, arms, lower back. I had relief from pain after my Fusion C4-6 in spite of having damage due to Spinal Cord compression. I have Footdrop in my right foot and weakness. Then I had C6-7 fused and no problems after surgery. I have Spinal Stenosis so it's going to spread throughout my Spine. Now my back is hurting with 3 Bulging Discs and Spondylolesthesis at L5-S1. I was using a Cane a few months ago because my balance was off. I might be starting P.T., but for now I'm just taking the Tramadol.
Some days I don't want to get out of bed . Pain just depletes you of all energy.Anonymous Neck pain with radiculopathy

The cause of my pain per MRI results is cervical degenerative disc disease coupled with cervical spine stenosis and multiple osteophyte complexes. The most narrow area is 6.4 mm at C4 C5 and I have been told by the neurosurgeon that they do not even begin to consider surgery until the stenosis progresses to a measurement of less than 6 mm. I am showing effacement of the spinal cord at the C4 C5 level. At times even with meds the pain in my right arm is so bad all I can do is sit and cry. I first went to my family doctor with severe neck pain radiating into my right arm and hand in November. I was also having problems gripping things and occasional numbness in my right hand. At that time she told me that the problems appeared to be coming from my neck. She ordered x-rays ( which showed degenerative disc disease) and gave me a steroid shot, oral steroids, a muscle relaxer, and pain med and told me to take aspirin twice a day since I cannot take most n-saids. I continued to have worse pain so I was referred to physical therapy for 4 weeks and given a 2nd steroid dose pack. The PT made me worse so they finally sent me for an MRI the first week in Jan. Due to the results above I was referred to Dr Hunt Bobo in Tupelo, MS. It would have been 2 1/2 months before I could see Dr Bobo or I was given the opportunity to see his nurse practitioner, Devin Fancher the next week. Of course I opted for the NP. I did not really feel that I was really listened to and felt that I was only given a cursory exam on my first visit which was in mid Jan. She referred me to Dr Fulton Thompson for a facet block which I had done the end of Jan. Since the block my pain has been worse. She also stated that she thought the pain in my forearm and hand was coming from something other than my neck and sent me to Dr Sam Newell, a neurologist for an EMG which I had done today. He states that it showed normal nerve function and no nerve damage. I am scheduled for another block on March 1 (they are talking about an epidural instead of facet this time) and scheduled to see the NP at Dr Hunt's for my follow up the week before that. At this point I am totally frustrated with all the lack of results. I was very active before all this...a volunteer firefighter, and an avid camper, hiker, fisher and hunter as well as active in our church. Basically, I just want some relief and want my life back and so far I'm just not seeing any progress toward that goal!

My left arm numbness has a profound impact on my daily life including daily activity work and rest. I am unable to sleep at noc due to several left arm numbness. I sleep in a soft collar and theee pillows so I can’t move at night or I need to place my face in a cervical collar with my arm dangling on the bedside. I’ve gotten the run around by physicians since 7/3/18 and don’t have an appt with the spinal doc until 9/27/18. Horrible medical care or support as homeopathic nor medical care have been effective.
