I have suffered from this injury for over 10 years now. On a flight home from France I almost felt like my left cheek atrophied and I've been dealing with pain on and off ever since. I was especially stagnant over the last 2 years and thus, the condition has severely increased. I am to the point where I cannot currently run because of pain and impeded movement patterns. ASTYM has offered relief in the past, however, the last 8 sessions of ASTYM I tried with a physical therapist in Tennessee were accompanied by directed stretching and actually rendered the ASTYM useless. This is commonly an overstretch injury. Therefore, stretching not only does not help, it worsens the condition. This condition is also more common among athletes and now that I know what I know, I would only recommend seeing a sports physical therapist, whether you consider yourself an athlete or not. a regular population PT does not see enough of these injuries to effectively treat high hamstring tendinopathy. Best of luck! May we all find relief sooner rather than later.

Christie High hamstring tendinopathy
I have stopped running as this seemed to exacerbate the pain. Also painful are some positions when I bend over for gardening or cleaning. When I do those things, it can be painful when I am at rest and can interrupt my sleep.
