Treatment Ratings

    Cured
    Total knee replacement
    Not Improved
Physical Therapy, Ice, Cortisone Injection, Support brace, Stretching, Strengthening Exercises

Tried everything including PT, injections, etc. Progressive deterioration over a 5 year span due to a previous car accident 40 years before. Put off total knee replacement because of my age. Pain was terrible, developed a limp and really put a damper on my very active life. Knew surgery was inevitable so after several attempts of injections and the last one not working, I decided to cave in and have the surgery. It's no picnic. Recuperation is lengthy and PT is hard. If you are strong willed and determined, definitely get the surgery. I have no regrets at all. Every case is unique and each of us have different levels of tolerance. Find an excellent surgeon, even get a 2nd opinion if you're not 100% sure. Make sure the entire process from start to finish is explained to you in detail so there are no surprises. Total knee replacement is major surgery. In ending, it took about 1 year to fully recover. The best is NO MORE PAIN, NO MORE LIMP and I am back to living a very normal, active life!
