I rarely get out, and when I do I am sitting rest of day. I sometimes get so depressed. I am getting physical therapy, it helps some till I try to walk in a store. I get the 6 injections they seem to help for a couple of weeks. The steroids no longer help. I have lost 50 lbs, but see no difference, I am trying to lose 50 more as the Dr. said I needed to in order to get a replacement. I am afraid of having surgery as I never did well with anesthesia.

Update: This is still pretty much true. The pain did get better during a 24-day stretch then returned full force, using a treatment called Stivax. I had a Supartz shot in November but it numbed for 3 days only. The main help I have received is my depression is not as bad at this time and I force myself to go out more. I do not walk a lot but trying and forcing more steps and take Advil when I do. Taping does help but I am allergic to the adhesive, the brace will not stay on my leg. I do have a good support system with my doctors and therapist.

Update 02/19/2018 all above information continues to be the same. Winter has been very hard on joints and getting out rarely.

12/06/2018 I am now getting knee blocks on the right leg, I received the second one today, by a Dr, Feldon at Aultman Pain Mgmt in Massillon, OH. the other approximately 2 months ago. I am hoping to get a treatment called Coolief radiation therapy. I have to ride a good distance and believe it has caused sciatica down both legs. I am back in PT and seeing my chiropractor and in severe pain with it. When getting out of recovery today I experienced a severe spasm the nurse was helping me get up and felt it happening. I screamed kind of loudly. This is the opposite leg. I have experienced bursitis in the left hip for the past 6 months as well. Dr. Huff tried an injection but did not help at all. My osteoarthritis has spread to left hand and shoulder. This Dr has me taking 1500mg of glucosamine and MSM as well as 1000 mg of turmeric. again I was not too bad until cold weather set in about 3 weeks ago.
01/01/2019 I have a very bad time during December 2018, I had spasms in sciatic and I was not very gracious when experiencing it. I have had 2 cortisone shots one in left upper hip and my family Dr gave at the left hip junction which has improved the pain somewhat but still running down calf and ankle. Will continue PT and hope it stays under control. my right knee is in more pain now probably compensating for the left leg.
1/16/2019 No improvement, spasms continue had to go to primary care she put me on the second round of prednisone plus 2 shots in different areas.

03/08/2019 I have had 2 epidurals for left side sciatica in the last 3 weeks. After 1st surgery pain had decreased by 60% but still had a few severe nights. So far I do not know how much it has helped since still have some numbing. I was able to go out for Dr appointment with less pain and walk better today, but now the right knee is showing more pain. Never ending.

4/4/2019 I had double epidural higher, seems to have improved quite a bit, but they found I was in A-Fib during this procedure. so now everything is pretty much on hold just simple stretches and walking for now...

05/15/2019 I had cardioversion last week, I seem to feel less foggy brained and less fatigued the past few days. I am having quite a bit of pain in the left shoulder that I blame on fall in March as it hurt ever since just getting worse waking me up in the night, so not sleeping well. Knee pain has lessened just not gone. I restarted exercises for legs, back just not a lot will work up to where I was, but nice I can do a few things now that I couldn't do at all for over 6 months. Until I see cardio dr no shots of any kind or pain Medication other than Tylenol which does not help me.
06/12/2019 I am doing some better, I am having RLS at night in bed only getting a couple of hours of sleep. Still bothered by the weather a lot. But I have been able to go out to store 2x's. To me, that is an improvement. I went to the dr for left shoulder from fall in March he said I now have 2 damaged rotator cuffs.
08/22/2019 I have improved somewhat had right knee ablation an approx month ago and shot for bursitis in front of the left hip two weeks ago. I still have to watch how I sit knee down but right now it is better by 50 % most days. having more pain with both shoulders now. Doing more exercise on them and standing on bad leg more.
